DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED TOGETHER WITH THE VISA APPLICATION FORM

HOW TO FILL THE APPLICATION FORM AND APPLY FOR A VISA
- Please note that processing of visa takes 7 days and applicants have to submit papers 14 days prior to the departure to Korea and do not disturb the Embassy by giving calls.
- Visa Application forms will only be accepted from Monday to Friday between 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m.
- Visa can be collected between 2.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. on the date set by the Embassy.
- Applicants must come personally to hand over their documents if it is their first visit to Korea. Applicants who have previously been to Korea can submit their documents through another person with an authorizing letter.
- The Applicant must come personally to collect his/her passport once visa is issued. If the applicant is unable to do so, another person could be authorized to do so by submitting a letter which carries the applicant's passport signature.
- Please note that all applicants should bring the exact visa fee stated in the form to avoid inconvenience.
- Please attach your previous passports if any, to get the Immigration endorsement.
- Applicant’s passport must be valid for another six months or more to stamp the visa
- Please note that a visa does not guarantee your entry to the Republic of Korea. The bearer of a Visa maybe subjected to Inspection at the Airport by Korean Immigration officials. These officials have the authority to deny you entry to the Republic of Korea.
- A recent photograph must be glued to the Application form in the space provided and not stapled.
Please NOTE that should any one of the below required documents is not submitted at the time of visa application, that application will not be accepted.

- One photograph of the applicant taken within the last six months.
- Letter from the applicant’s employer with the official seal on it. If the applicant is not employed , a letter to the visa officer stating the places he/she intends to visit.
- The original Invitation letter and Copy of the Korean Identification of the Inviter certified by a Notary Public with the original envelope.
- The originals & Copies of the Applicant’s personal bank statements for past three months. If he/she holds savings account, the original saving book & copy and a letter from the Bank Manager confirming the current balance should be attached.
- The Flight schedule with the confirmation of the return flight.
- A photocopy of the personal detail page of the applicant’s passport & a copy of both sides of the ID and Birth Certificate (first visitors only)
- Visa fee of Rs. 3,600 (Bring the exact amount)
- Requirements for the Buddhist Monks
- Letter from the Chief Priest of residing Temple
- Recommendation letter from the Ministry of Buddha Sasana
- Copy of the Upasampadawa certificate
- Original invitation letter with the registration of inviting temple certified by a Korean Notary Public.

- Passport detailed page copy, ID copy (both sides) and Birth Certificate
- Visa fee Rs. 3,600 (Please bring exact amount)
- Requirements for Sea farers
- Letter from the Local Agent with a copy of the Business Registration
- Invitation letter from the Korean agent with a copy of business registration certified by a Korean Notary Public.
- Letter from the Master of Shipping from the Port Authority
- Flight Itinerary
- Passport copy, CDC copy (only detailed page), ID copy both sides and a copy of the birth certificate
- Visa fee Rs. 3,600 (Please bring exact amount)
- Requirements for students
- Letter from the applicant giving details why they are interested in learning the Korean language
- Original Admission letter with payment receipt from Korea
- Local money transaction documents (payments for the Korean University)
- Bank statements for last three months with the current balance confirmation letter from the Manager (please attach copies of the monthly statements/savings book)
- Academic certificates with copies
- Passport detailed page copy, ID copy (both sides) and Birth Certificate.

- Requirements for Married
- A letter from the applicant stating all the details how he/she got to know each other and how they got married
- Invitation letter from the Korean wife/husband(Form can be download from the web:www.lka.mofat.go.kr)
- Sri Lanka Original Marriage Certificate with an English translation and the Korean Marriage certificate (extra copies should attached)
- The originals of the Financial documents (Bank statements, House rent agreements etc.)
- The Flight schedule
- A photocopy of the personal detail page of the applicant's passport & a copy of both sides of the Identity card and Birth Certificate
- Photographs to prove the relationship
- Visa fee of Rs. 3,600 (Bring the exact amount)
